PLEASE USE UNISEX FABRICS

	For a quilt approximately 67” x 78”
You will need:
	Eight strips 6” x 73”
	Eight strips 6” x 62”
	Eight strips 6” x 51”
	Eight strips 6” x 40”
	Eight strips 6” x 29”
	Ten strips 6” x 18”

Remember that you are doing the back and front at the same time.

Batting to fit 72” x 83” cut into 6 inch wide strips. Then the batting strips are cut to match the length of the fabric strips. You need one strip of batting for each pair of fabric strips.
You should piece the longer strips of fabric first before you start to assemble the quilt.

Assembly: Use two eighteen inch strips of fabric. Place a strip of batting between the strips. Sew the long sides with a serger or use a zigzag or overcast stitch on a regular sewing machine. Sew across the top and bottom of the piece.
For each additional strip place fabrics right sides together on the front and back of the previous piece right sides together and place a strip of batting on the bottom. Sew the seam. Fold open. (You now have fabric on the front and back with batting in the middle.) Sew the long edge. You may have to trim excess fabric on the ends. Then sew along each short edge from the outside in toward the middle. Repeat this on the other long edge of the original piece. Then repeat these steps across the top and bottom of the three pieces you have assembled. Continue this process ---pieces joined to long sides and top and bottom---until you have the size quilt you want.

Note: I made the pieces generous lengths so you will have to do some trimming.
These directions are based on a pattern by Kaye Wood.

Text Box: PILLOWCASE INSTRUCTIONS

Cut Fabric as follows:
Main Fabric:
          Standard Pillowcase: 24” x 41”
          Queen Pillowcase: 33” x 41”
          King Pillowcase: 36” x 41”

Border: 10” x 41”
Accent: 3” x 41”

Lay border fabric right side up lengthwise on work surface

Lay the main fabric right side up on top of the border fabric and line up the 41” raw edges at the tope of the border fabric.

Press the accent fabric in half lengthwise and lay on top of the main fabric lining up the 41” raw edges at the top of border fabric.

Roll or fold the main fabric from the bottom almost to the top to keep it out of the way.

Bring the bottom of the border fabric up to line up and match the top edge, then pin all the raw edges together.

Stitch the long 41” edge with a 1/2” seam allowance. You have just stitched a tube of fabric. Pull the main fabric out of the tube. You have just sewn the border to the main fabric with no exposed seams.

Finish the side and bottom seams with a French seam or use your serger.

To make a French Seam - place wrong side of fabric together and stitch a 1/4” seam and then turn the pillowcase with right sides together and stitch a 1/2” seam enclosing the raw edges.

Your Pillowcase is finished. Enjoy!!!!!!
